Daniele Pascal is renowned for her interpretation of the music of Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel, and to many synonymous with the spirit of the romance that the French café song has given the world.
This platinum selling artist is one of South Africa’s most celebrated artists. Her latest show, So French is French with a sparkle.
Daniele’s unique style and classic joie de vivre is quintessentially Parisian. She will delight in her true style with a selection of well-known French songs by Piaf, Brel, Porter, Kitt, Greco, Legrand and Aznavour with highlights from her new album Parisette . She will also perform some of her own compositions.
Imagine strolling down the Champs-Élysées or sipping a pastis in Montmartre….that is where Danièle will transport you. She will enchant you, move you and entertain you. She is accompanied on piano and vocals by talented and versatile Pieter du Plessis.
Born and raised in France, Danièle made her stage debut at the early age of five. She joined the Conservatoire D’art Dramatique where she played the great French classics, Greek tragedies and comedies. Her interest in languages guided her to North America and Canada where she became actively involved with the artistic community. She began her career performing in piano bars, music halls, theatres and cabarets, developing an adoring audience base through her popular live concerts. She appeared in a variety of shows such as Fiddler on the roof, Man of La Mancha, The Boyfriend, Hello Dolly, Tartuffe, Come blow your Horn, The last of the Red Hot Lovers, Rebecca, The Maids, The Rovers and You can’t take it with you.
Her Piaf and Brel productions makes her a true exponent of French culture in South Africa, a sought after artist in the entertainment industry. Her best selling album Parisette , a selection of French Cafe songs, is enjoying enormous success and is well received by critics!
