Officially formed by accident in 2010, The Rescu performed what was supposed to be a once off show in a small Cape Town club with South Africa’s Stealing Love Jones. The response the band received during and after the show lead to the realisation that these guys have what it takes to break out onto the SA music scene.
The Rescu spent some time away from the city, writing and rehearsing the material for their upcoming performances and debut studio album. The band drew their inspiration for the songs from various elements and life experiences. Their genuine and heartfelt love for South Africa and its people inspired many of the tracks along with their deep roots in classic rock. Artists such as Lenny Kravitz, The Foo Fighters,U2, Pearl Jam, and Kings of Leon all provided the ingredients for the mixing pot that was Heritage Sound Recording Studio located in the city of Cape Town. It was here that The Rescu captured the essence of what is a true alternative rock album. A mighty drum sound, powerful bass lines, massive guitar tone and dynamic vocals combine to form an outstanding debut album.
During the latter half of 2010 and early 2011, the band went on to play with some of the biggest names in the SA music circuit. Sharing the stage with Just Jinger, Foto Na Dans, The Dirty Skirts, and Prime Circle, The Rescu have proved its where they belong. These performances have given the band the street cred they require to hold their own at any level of live performance. The three-piece rock band produce a huge sound with their oversized drums, all valve vintage guitar stacks, and head high bass cabs. If it’s a rock show you’re looking for, it’s a rock show you’ll get.

The Rescu will be launching their debut album on a national tour towards the end of August 2011. Also to be released is their debut music video featuring their first single, ‘I Did It For You’. If there’s a band to watch out for, it’s The Rescu!
