COVERBOYS This is a show for girls only! Get out of the kitchen.....! Over the years The Coverboys have been the focus of much media attention and are now bona fide South African Celebrities. The group has been fortunate to have performed in nearly every small town and large city in South Africa, and almost every neighbouring country. The Coverboys shows consist of good choreography and making their audiences feel special due to frequent audience participation and interaction.  They also like to share a piece of their heart with their fans by mingling with the audience after each show, not just disappearing after each act. The Coverboys have also stepped onto the global scene, performing for diverse audiences during the group’s international tours.  It’s been particularly heartening for the group to know they are always welcomed with open arms by their fans, whom The Coverboys thank for their kind support. Among the media platforms this group of talented performers has been featured on are TV programmes like CUPID, THE TOASTY SHOW, EGOLI  and EVITA’S INDABA.  The Coverboys have also been interviewed by Manu Padayachee of CARTE BLANCHE for the programme GRAB.  Magazine features have been numerous, including KEUR, SCOPE, PEOPLES MAGAZINE, YOU and HUISGENOOT. Hein, the owner of The Coverboys has also released a CD called Hein Hewston and the Coverboys,  and performed on Dis Hoe Dit Is with Steve Hofmeyr. A mark of the Coverboy’s following throughout the country came recently when the group was awarded – along with the likes of the Soweto String Quartet, Steve Hofmeyr, Patricia Lewis, Leon Schuster, and Baby Jake Matlala – the prestigious Avenue of Fame.  They have also performed at the Steve and Friends concert at Carnival City. Ek Hou Van Jou OK ekhouvanjou,okay! is a South African supergroup from the university town of Potchefstroom in the North West province. "ekhouvanjou,okay!" means "I like you,okay!" in their native language of Afrikaans and all their songs are in this same language. The band consists of Louis "Raptor" Janse van Rensburg, Arno "Autotune" de Beer, Rouxan Cloete and Ruan Kruger, the latter who is also a drummer for well known Afrikaans rockers Straatligkinders. The band, which started out in April 2010 has been making progressives waves throughout the South African music scene especially with their crazy lyrics, beats and humour. All of this can be seen in their first official music video which was done by Afrikaans rock legend Bouwer Bosch, also a Straatligkinders member. The second video launched in beginning of November with the third one already on YouTube. The band already released an online EP with 6 songs like "Die Raptor in my inbox" and "Vreeslik Feestelik" and also recorded a song in support for their national soccer team called "Ons reenboog het 11 kleure". This song also featured on one of South Africa's biggest radio stations 5fm as part of the drive show's Football Cheese. All the songs was produced and recorded in their home town with producers such as Francois de Klerk and Johan Fourie.

Mike McCullagh's Hits of the Sixties and Seventies First there was the 60 Something (founded and directed by Mike McCullagh of McCully’s Workshop fame) started at Cape Town's V&A Waterfront in 1992 and was the first big tribute show of its kind. Paying tribute to top 60's artists like Petula Clark, Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Tina Turner and many more, the show became an instant success and ran for over four years consecutively to more than 250,000 patrons. In 2008... the show was revamped and re-opened at the Barnyard Theatre at Willowbridge to critical acclaim and played to packed houses. This year it is back and McCullagh (on drums) is joined by a fantastic cast of talented musicians and singers. These include the infamous Duck Chowles on lead vocals from Barnyard Theatres, TV star Keenan Arrisson (Shooting Stars) who is not only the compere and singer but also does a neat comedy turn. He is aided by the phenomenal Lucy Holgate and Riaan Cornelius also on vocals, Kyle Petersen on keyboards, Warren Lomberg on guitar, Neil Peyton on bass, and Morgan King on sax. Arno Carstens & Albert Frost Unplugged Arno Carstens Carstens is an award-winning South African singer-songwriter and guitarist currently based between Cape Town and London. During his career as the lead singer of South Africa’s favourite rock band The Springbok Nude Girls, and subsequently as a solo artist, Arno has released 7 studio albums and had 18 top ten singles. He has won 5 South African Music Awards and shared the stage with legends of the music world. Arno has performed on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, has appeared at Glastonbury, V Festival, T in the Park and Hard Rock Calling and has supported the likes of The Rolling Stones, Paul Weller, The Police, Simple Minds and Meat Loaf on European tours. Arno Carstens’ UK debut album Wonderful Wild (release date 26 April 2010) was written, recorded and mixed in London & Spain with co-songwriting contributions from Giles Martin, James Walsh, Jim Duguid and Youth. The album was produced by legendary British producer Youth (The Verve’s Urban Hymns) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini’s These Streets). Final mix on the album is by Tim Bran (The Verve’s recent UK#1 album). Arno’s 2nd solo album, The Hello Goodbye Boys was released in 2005. Produced by well-known South African studio maestro Brian O’ Shea (USA’s Seether), The Hello Goodbye Boys went gold and won a SAMA award in 2006. Another Universe, Arno’s debut solo album, was released in 2003 and as one of the most anticipated solo projects in South African music history, did not disappoint, becoming the biggest selling South African English rock album this side of the millennium. The platinum selling album won a SAMA Award for Best Rock Album in 2004. Albert Frost Albert Frost is an all-round master guitarist with a passion for music that reflects happiness over any audience and for lovers of all genres – he effects success into the albums of many artists and is loved by crowds all over the world. Devils and Gods marks the release of Albert Frost’s debut solo studio album. Albert Frost started playing the guitar in 1989, when he was only 12. He was voted as Best Blues guitarist in South Africa by Stage Magazine. This fact, however, shouldn’t let you underestimate the man’s serious Rock abilities. In 1994 he started playing alongside his father, the legendary Frank D. Frost, in the awesome blues band, the Blues Broers. Frosted Orange was created in 1996 with artist Simon Orange, who played keyboard and sang vocals for Blues Broers. Albert performed with Valiant Swart from 1999 to 2003 and recorded Blou Kombuis with Koos Kombuis in 2000. In 2004, he played with the Belgian band, Blues Lee at the internationally acclaimed music festival, Pukkelpop, in Belgium. Daniel Lohues, an international blues performer from Holland, collaborated with Albert at an electrifying Oppikoppi show during the same year. Releasing his first solo live album entitled Catfish in 2002 created a new spectrum as he performs original songs and Frost-versions of the classics from Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters to name a few. Albert is a mood-man who can perform intimate solo shows and an electrifying fusion of blues and rock and roll funk with his Trio band. New Porn formed in 2003 when Albert joined forces with Arno Carstens (Springbok Nude Girls) and went gold with their outstanding debut album “Another Universe” in May 2004. It won Albert and Arno the Best Rock Album Award at the SAMAs (South African Music Awards) in the same month they supported REM on their world tour in March 2005. Albert Frost has shared the stage with some of South Africa’s finest: Vusi Mahlasela, Louis Mahlanga, Morris Goldberg, Nico Carstens, Ollie Viljoen, Theo Crous, Anton Goosen, Riku Latti, Gerald Clarke and the Springbok Nude Girls. True highlights in his career include performing with The Rolling Stones in Spain in 2007, playing a show with Oscar winner Tim Robbins in the Blues Room and being part of the REM tour in 2006; the presidential inauguration and celebration of the 10 years of democracy in 2004 to an audience of 70 000, as well as collaborating with double Grammy Award winning Malian legend, Ali Farka Toure for an exclusive function launch for priceless African manuscripts from the 14th century in Cape Town, hosted by Thabo Mbeki. He’s played at the past 11 Grahamstown Festivals, 8 Oudtshoorn KKNK festivals, 6 years at Aardklop, did a 4th performance at Woodstock, Splashy Fen – and incredibly, 2009 marked Albert’s 23rd Oppikoppi Festival performance.  He is currently on tour in Europe with Arno Carstens where they have been supporting Simple Minds and Bruce Springsteen.
